Audit Logging Considerations

The following considerations must be taken into account while setting up audit logging for a table:

  • Audit logging can potentially impact the performance of the system as a new record is inserted into the audit log table for each action that is performed on a table for which audit logging is enabled.

  • If the main intent of enabling audit logging is to track the activity of a user in the system, a better option may be to turn on logging for that user through security. For more information on how to enable logging for a user please refer to the "Application Resources" topic.
