Security Questions

Security Questions or Password Hints is an optional piece of security that is recommended. The questions from which a user can choose from are established in a table that does not have an online page – CVL_SC_PSWD_HINT. Some examples of password hints are as follows:

• Where were you born?

• What is your mother’s maiden name?

• What is your favorite color?

• What is your pet’s name?

Note: The application server must be restarted after any changes are made to this table.

Multiple Security Questions

To enhance password recovery security, the system supports the configuration of multiple security challenge questions. This capability helps reduce fraudulent activity and provides stronger verification of authorized user access. Administrators can configure these questions on the Password Hint (PSWDHINT) page. This functionality is controlled by the ENABLE_MULTIPLE_PASSWORD_HINTS feature flag, located in the ERP Application Parameter (ERPCTRL) page.

Note: If the feature flag is disabled, the system continues to operate using the existing single-question functionality without any change in behavior.
