The User Business Card feature is used to display certain user details such as User ID, User Full Name, Address, Email, Phone Number, Department and Unit in a Business Card pop-up. When enabled, the User ID field appears as a hyperlink. Upon clicking the User ID, the user’s Business Card appears in a pop-up window. Please note that User ID field may have any number of alternate labels other than just User ID.
You can enable or disable the User Business Card feature site wide using enableBusinessCardPopUp on the ERP Application Parameters (ERPCTRL) page. When the parameter is set to true, then the feature is enabled site wide. When it is set to false, the feature is disabled site wide and the User ID fields appear as normal fields.
When user does not have permissions to open the User Business Card pop-up page (that is, the user is not assigned to a security role-security group with Page Open access), the User ID field will appear as a normal field without a hyperlink.
CGI recognizes that it may be necessary to protect the identity and contact information of specific users. To support this need, a Disable User Business Card check box has been added in the Account Options section of the User Information (SCUSER) page and Maintenance (UDOC) and HR User Maintenance (HRDOC) transaction pages. This flag disables the User Business Card functionality for the user. When this flag is checked, upon clicking the User ID, an informational message is displayed that the business card is not allowed for that User ID. Sites may consider disabling the User Business Card for service accounts or users in public safety, who may want their identity and contact information protected.
The information displayed on the User Business Card can be configured via the Business Card Configuration (UBUSCRDC) page. Refer to the “Business Card Configuration” topic for more information.
