Fixed Asset Barcode Setup
Fixed Asset Barcode Setup (FABARCD) is used to establish one or more barcode layouts that are scanned by users utilizing the Advantage Fixed Asset Inventory Mobile. The list of likely fields within the Fixed Asset Component Registry are the following: Fixed Asset Number alone or in combination with Fixed Asset Component Number, VIN, License Plate, Property ID, Tag Number, Serial Number, and Barcode. When more than one field is in the barcode, the plus character ( + ) is used to connect the values, which must be entered using the data attribute (for example, FA_NO+COMP_NO).
Field InformationField Information
Individual field details are not provided for each field, as some are self-explanatory.
-
Barcode ID: A required ID to uniquely identify each instance of barcode setup.
-
Default: When a particular barcode setup should be initially selected for end users, that record should have this indication selected. Otherwise, users need to always choose it from the list. When changing what record is the default, deselect and save the first value before selecting the second. Alternatively, when selecting the second record and saving, the system deselects the first automatically.
-
Terminator: When a barcode has additional data beyond the field(s) that tie to the Fixed Asset Registry, the character in the barcode that separates that data is required for a scan to work properly. The character/symbol used in the barcode must be entered here. If there is no additional data, this field should be blank.
