BI Folder Security

The BI Folder Security (BIFLDROL) page provides the capability to map security roles with folders. This controls the access of the folders and the reports inside those folders. A user will be able to access the reports inside a folder (on the Reports page), only if it is assigned the security role mapped with that folder. However, the folder security will not be cascaded to the sub-folders. For example, if the folder which is assigned to a security role is a sub-folder and its parent folders are not given access, then the hierarchy of the folder will still be shown on the Reports (RPRTLST) page. However, the reports inside those parent folders will not be accessible.

On editing a record, you can only update the active flag. If a record has the Active flag as false, then that folder will not be accessible for that security role.

Note: The BI Folder security controls access to the folders. If a user has access to a folder then it can access all the reports inside that folder.
