Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic, currently as a platform inside the Google Marketing Platform brand. Google Analytics integration with Advantage 4 is used to track the user footprint (number of visits) for Advantage applications.

The following steps must be followed for Google Analytics to receive an analytics report for the Login page and the Home Page.

  1. Must have a valid Google Analytics account and then configure the Google Analytics Tracking Code (google_analytic_tracking_code) in the Product Information Configuration (product_info.conf) file.

  2. Must enable the Google Analytics functionality by setting enabled to true for the googleAnalytics feature flag in the feature.conf file.  The delivered value is False.

  3. Page-level Metadata Extension: The Google Analytics Metadata extension property, googleAnalyticsEnabled, must be set to True to enable the tracking for a specific page. This property is delivered as True for the Login page and the Home Page.  If a site wants to enable tracking on other pages, then an extension request is needed to enable this property on other pages.

After completing the above steps, authorized users can log into the Google Analytics website to view the analytics report.
