Manage Guide

The Manage Guide (GUIDE) page is used to modify or delete screen guides that are displayed in Advantage Assistant. This page displays the list of screen guides.

Note:

  • Sites require a license to create a screen guide. A CGI Administrator will enable this feature for your site on request.

  • Sites can control who can access and perform actions on this page via Advantage security.

The Edit Guide page is accessed by selecting the Edit row-level action for an existing record on the Manage Guide page.

Indicates the title that is displayed in the Assistant pop-up window for the screen guide.

Indicates the description that is displayed in the Assistant pop-up window for the screen guide.

Business Role

Optional

Indicates the business role(s) for which the screen guide is available:

  • Sites can select the available business roles from a pick list.

  • Multiple values can be added with a comma separated list.

  • If no option is selected, then the system defaults the value to ALL.

Page Code

Auto-populated

Indicates the page code for which the screen guide should be associated with.

Application

Auto-populated

Indicates the application that is associated with the page code selected.

Publish

Optional

Select this check box to ensure that this screen guide is displayed in the Assistant pop-up window once the user navigates and launches Assistant for the mapped business role and page code. By default, this check box is not selected.

All Business Roles

Optional

Select this check box to assign this screen guide for all available business roles. By default, this check box is selected.

Step Order

Required

Indicates the order of steps that is displayed while playing the screen guide.

Step Description

Required

Indicates the description that is displayed while playing the screen guide.

Tooltip Placement

Optional

Indicates the direction of the tooltip that is displayed while playing the screen guide.

The default Tooltip placement is bottom.

Optionally, a user can minimize/maximize the tooltip during the replay of the screen guide by clicking on the Minimize/Maximize icon inside the tooltip. This can help in scenarios where the tooltip overlaps component(s) on the page.

User Interaction

Optional

Indicates whether auto step increment is required or not. This is applicable only to interactions that cause the page to refresh or initiate page navigation. The default value is No, which means the user needs to click the Next arrow to proceed with the screen guide. If this field is set to Yes, then the system automatically moves the user to the next step. The recommended value is No for data entry fields, as users know when they are ready to proceed to the next step.

Department

Optional

Indicates the Department(s) for which the screen guide is available. Advantage uses the user’s home department to filter screen guides.

Multiple values can be added with a comma separated list.

Priority

Optional

Determines the order in which screen guides appear in the Assistant pop-up window. The lowest numerical value will be considered the highest priority, with higher numerical values having correspondingly lower priorities. If no priority is specified, the screen guides will follow the default behavior, where the most recently added guide appears at the top in the Assistant pop-up window.

By default, this priority value will be empty.

Once the above field details are entered, click the Save & Close button. A screen guide is updated successfully.

On the Edit Guide page, Step(s) of a screen guide can be deleted. Selecting Delete from the row-level action menu deletes a single step. Selecting Delete from the grid-level action menu deletes all steps that are selected in the grid. Upon deleting or updating the step order manually, click the Save or Save & Close button to display steps in sequence The system also rearranges the order of deleted steps automatically before saving them into the system.

The Copy Guide page is accessed by selecting the Copy row-level action for an existing record on the Manage Guide page. A screen guide can be deleted by selecting the Delete row-level action for deleting a single screen guide and Delete grid-level action for deleting multiple screen guides on the grid.
