Troubleshooting Tips

Refer to the following table for guidance on resolving problems while using Configurable Inquiries.

Problem

Possible Cause & Suggested Resolution

System Feedback contains - Invalid response from Insight.

Advantage fails to make a connection to Insight either because the Insight URL listed in the config_inquiry.conf file is incorrect or not accessible.

Please verify config_inquiry.conf and powerbi.conf setup listed in previous sections.

System Feedback contains - unable to find valid certification path to requested target.

The SSL certificate required to access the secured Insight URL listed in the config_inquiry.conf file is not imported to keystore, Adv3.keystore.

A temporary workaround is to update bypassSSLdevmode to true. This should not be done in a live production environment.

System Feedback contains - Error occurred while fetching data from Insight. Unexpected error encountered while DAX Query timeout.

Result grid rows are very high in number.

Add more filters to narrow the search criteria.  

System Feedback contains - Error occurred while fetching data from Insight. The resultset of a query to external data has exceeded the maximum allowed size of 10,000,000 rows.

Insight has a limit on the number of result grid rows.

Add more filters to narrow the search criteria.

System Feedback contains - User does not have access to the <> database, or the database does not exist.

This is likely related to Advantage Insight Semantic model setup. Verify Insight Models are deployed correctly.

System Feedback contains - primaryReportingTable not found.

This is likely related to Advantage Insight Semantic model setup. Verify Insight Models are deployed correctly.

System Feedback contains - Error occurred while fetching Metadata from Insight.

This is likely related to Advantage Insight Semantic model setup. Verify Insight Models are deployed correctly.

System Feedback contains - Last page feature not supported for Configurable Inquiries.

Last action is not supported because of performance considerations. Use Export feature to view all records.

BI Model Name pick on CIBUSVW page does not show records.

Verify the availableModels property exists in the config_inquiry.conf file and has the CGI pre-delivered model list.

CIBUSVW page has records but the Business View picklist on CREATCI does not show records.

Verify BISECMAP security role setup. For a combination of User Security Role and BI Model, a BI role record should be set up.

CIMYINQ does not show records for a user even though the inquiry was created previously or shared with the user.

Verify BISECMAP security role setup. For a combination of User Security Role and BI Model, a BI role record should be set up.

PB inquiry does not show records and shows a time out system feedback.

Verify BISECMAP security role setup. For a combination of User Security Role and PB BI Model, a BI role record should be set up and the Default BI Role Name field should be set up as PB Security.

PB CI’s do not work for any role other than PB Security.
