View Field Database Information

Sites can turn on the Field DB Information feature by enabling the ENABLE_FIELD_DB_HELP parameter on the ERP Application Parameters (ERPCTRL) page. Users can then choose to enable/disable the Field DB Information feature via the Enable Field DB Help check box on the Account Settings > Preferences tab. Once enabled, users can see a dotted underline on the caption of all fields in the application that support this feature. Users can hover over the field title and the system will display a pop-up containing the field’s database information. This information is available across the application on all types of pages and in scalar sections, editable grids, non-editable grids, modal windows, and so forth.

The pop-up includes the following information:

  • Column Name

  • Business Object Name

Users can copy the DB information to the clipboard by clicking the Copy icon.

Limitations: The Field DB information feature is not supported for the following areas in the application:

  • Page title

  • System feedback pop-ups on a field

  • System feedback ribbon and Error message panel

  • More information pop-up

  • Formula definition pop-up
