Creating the Period of COBRA Coverage
The coverage period dates for individuals who are eligible for COBRA coverage are automatically initialized based on transactions entered through the Employment Status Maintenance (ESMT) and the Dependent Profile (DPND) pages. However, the COBRA Attribute Maintenance (CAMT) page can be used to update existing coverage period dates and to enter coverage period dates for those individuals who have not been scheduled. You can also modify a COBRA recipient’s personal data through the COBRA Attribute Maintenance (CAMT) page.
To access the COBRA Attribute Maintenance (CAMT) page and enter COBRA coverage dates and other data from the COBRA Management (COBRA) activity folder, perform the following steps:
Select the appropriate employee from the grid that appears on the main page of the COBRA Management (COBRA) activity folder.
Select COBRA Attribute Maintenance from the secondary navigation panel. Result: The page displays a grid that lists qualified beneficiaries associated with the selected employee.
Select the appropriate qualified beneficiary from the grid.
Select Create COBRA Attribute Maintenance. Result: The header of the COBRA Attribute Maintenance (CAMT) page is displayed.
Select COBRA Attribute Maintenance Detail from the secondary navigation panel. The page is updated and features a grid listing qualified beneficiaries.
Select Insert New Line. Result: A new line appears on the grid.
Complete the General Information section.
Complete the Mailing Address section.
Complete the Contact Information section.
Select Validate to make certain that your entries are correct.
Select Submit to record the COBRA coverage information in the system.
Select Close to exit the COBRA Attribute Maintenance (CAMT) page.
