Setting Up Benefits Wizard Email Reminders
Users can configure email reminders for employees who have not submitted their benefit enrollment by using the Email Reminders and Notifications (EMRM) reference page. To do this, select the appropriate notification type of New Hire Enrollment or Open Enrollment and enter the Enrollment Start Date.
When the Email Trigger batch job runs for either notification type, it identifies employees who have not submitted their enrollment for the specified period and sends an email reminder using the email template defined in EMRM.
The batch job evaluates employee records as follows:
-
Enrollment Submission Check
-
It searches the ESS_BENEFIT_TEMP table for records created during New Hire Enrollment or Open Enrollment where SUBMIT_FL = 1 and the ENRL_FROM_DT matches the date specified in EMRM.
-
It also checks the BNRL_DOC_HDR table for transactions created during the same enrollment period with the correct ENRL_FROM_DT.
Employees with matching records in either table are considered to have submitted their enrollment and will not receive a reminder.
-
Eligibility Verification
The batch job confirms that employees are eligible for the enrollment period by verifying:
-
A valid New Hire Calendar Date (NEWHCLDT) record for New Hire Enrollment, or
-
A valid Employee Benefits Enrollment Administrator (EBEA) record for Open Enrollment.
Employees without the corresponding record are not eligible and will not receive a reminder. Additionally, newly hired employees who are not yet eligible for Open Enrollment will not receive Open Enrollment reminders.
