Starting COBRA Coverage

Once the COBRA administrator determines which individuals are qualified to receive COBRA benefits, notification letters are mailed to these individuals and their responses are tracked. The COBRA Interface Table Updates (HH01000D) creates COBRA Status Maintenance (CSMT) records for qualified individuals. You can also manually enter information for an individual that was not picked up by the COBRA Interface Table Updates (HH01000D). This can be done by creating a COBRA Attribute Maintenance (CAMT) entry and then a COBRA Status Maintenance (CSMT) entry.
