Assessment
The Assessment step is available for the manager to add assessment about employee’s performance on various goals. This step displays all the finalized Goals, it will also reflect the employee rating and comments if the site has enabled the Self Assessment feature.
Assessment step is editable for the manager only after goals get finalized i.e. Evaluation Status is Assessment In Progress.
The manager can add status (Not Started, In progress & Completed), % Complete, Rating and Comments and any reference attachments for each goal. They also need to add Overall Rating and Overall Comments.
There can be a scoring that can be associated with goals achievement, the default scoring is via weighted average method where the weights add up to 100. Formula used is (x1 (w1) + x2 (w2) + x3 (w3), and so on)/100, where x is rating value associated with assessment rating for a goal and w is the corresponding weightage factor for that goal. Sites can also customize the scoring or set it to no score calculation.
Managers can edit the Assessment throughout the evaluation period as long as they don’t send it to Reviewer or Release it to employees. While releasing it to next user, system checks that all mandatory fields have a value - Manager Rating, Comments, Overall Rating, Overall Comments. Recommended practice is to update the system on a regular basis on what Goals have been achieved and which ones still need to be worked on, this way managers can track their reportee’s progress. They are also encouraged to have check point meetings with employees and keep on documenting significant action items, discussions, agreements through the Conversations feature.
Managers can also add any linked evaluations on the assessment step. For example, for an Annual Evaluation there were two Mid-term reviews that were conducted and recorded in the system, they can be associated in the Linked Evaluation grid on the assessment step for the Annual Evaluation. Once the Evaluation is released to employee for signature, the Linked Evaluation grid is view only and no more evaluations can be associated.
An employee has read only access to the Assessment step, only after the evaluation has been released to the employee.
