FLSA Straight and Premium Events

The FLSA Straight and Premium Events (FLSP) reference page is used to define the straight and premium event codes that the Gross-to-Net (GTN) process utilizes when an employee reports time using an event that has the Overtime Event Type ID set to Payment or Leave Accrual on the Pay and Leave Events (EVNT) reference page.

Note: This functionality is only available when utilizing the Next Generation payroll service.

The FLSA Straight and Premium Events reference page contains the following fields:

Field Name

Field Description

FLSA Profile

The identification code associated with the FLSA Profile, defined on the FLSA Profile (FLPR) reference page.

Event Type

The Event Type that is used to report overtime on a time transaction. This Event Type should have an Overtime Event Type ID of Payment or Leave Accrual.

Overtime Event Type ID

The Overtime Event Type ID for the Event Type entered.

Overtime Premium Factor

Defines the factor used to calculate the overtime premium.

This value determines how overtime premium is calculated. If left blank, the system defaults to a factor of 0.5. This field supports dynamic configuration to accommodate varying overtime requirements. The Overtime Premium Factor field must be greater than 0 and less than 9.999999.

Straight Pay Offset Event

Identifies the event type that is used to back out the pay originally associated with the Compensatory Time Off (CTO) accrued event. This field can only be entered if the Overtime Event Type ID is Leave Accrual. This event should be a pay type event.

Straight Compensatory Time Off Accrual Event

Identifies the event type for the straight compensatory time to be accrued. This field can only be entered if the Overtime Event Type ID is Leave Accrual. This event should be a leave type event. This field is not required if the FLSA Exempt check box is selected on the associated FLSA Profile code.

Straight Compensatory Time Off Accrual Category

This is a non-editable field that displays the Category associated with the Straight Compensatory Time Off Accrual Event.

Straight Compensatory Time Off Adjustment Event

Identifies the event type for the straight CTO to be paid out when the employee's leave balance is over the CTO Cap Threshold. This field can only be entered if the Overtime Event Type ID is Leave Accrual and if the Compensatory Time Off Cap Threshold on the FLSA Profile (FLPR) reference page is entered. This should be a pay type event. This field is not required if the FLSA Exempt check box is selected on the associated FLSA Profile code.

Premium Compensatory Time Off Accrual Event

Identifies the event type for the premium compensatory time to be accrued. This field can only be entered if the Overtime Event Type ID is Leave Accrual. This should be a leave type event.

Note: If the Overtime Event Type ID is Leave Accrual, the Premium Pay Event and the Premium Compensatory Time Off Accrual Event fields cannot be populated together.

Premium Compensatory Time Off Accrual Category

This is a non-editable field that displays the category associated with the Premium Compensatory Time Off Accrual Event.

Premium Pay Event

Identifies the premium pay event type for the premium overtime to be paid with. This should be a pay type event.

Note: If the Overtime Event Type ID is Leave Accrual, the Premium Pay Event and the Premium Compensatory Time Off Accrual Event fields cannot be populated together.

Premium Compensatory Time Off Adjustment Event

Identifies the event type for the premium CTO to be paid out when the employee's leave balance is over the CTO Cap Threshold. This field can only be entered if the Overtime Event Type ID is Leave Accrual and if the Compensatory Time Off Cap Threshold on the FLSA Profile (FLPR) reference page is entered. This should be a pay type event.
