Leave Category
The Leave Category (LPCT) page lists all leave categories for a given leave policy. A leave category defines a type of leave balance. For each category in this page, thresholds for a leave balance are defined for daily, monthly, and annual leave processing and leave actions are specified for each out of bounds condition. The page also indicates the frequency of balance checking for a given category.
In the General Information section, the Leave Request Validation field enables you to setup the type of error that should be displayed if the requested leave amount on the Employee Leave Request (LREQ) transaction exceeds the current available balance or the minimum threshold amount. The valid values are Error, Warning, and N/A. The Balance field indicates the type of balance that will be used to validate the entered amount on the Employee Leave Request transaction. Valid values are Current Balance, Total Usage and N/A.
The Employee/Manager Role Leave Alert section allows you to include or exclude leave categories from being displayed to the Manager role. Select the Include in Employee/Manager Role Leave Balance Alert check box to indicate that the leave category should be displayed in the alert. Select the leave category to be displayed on the alert for maximum leave balance threshold, minimum leave balance threshold or both. The Maximum Threshold and Minimum Threshold fields are used to indicate the threshold limit for displaying leave balance alerts for the Manager role when the balance is about to reach the maximum or minimum limits.
Data from the LPCT page can be selectively downloaded into a spreadsheet by clicking the Export or Export All actions. Once downloaded, the data can be updated and uploaded back to the LPCT page. The Export and Export All actions are available when there is at least one record returned as a result of a browse or search action. When the Export and Export All action is selected, the resulting data from the previous browse or search is selected for download. After the download is complete the data can be manipulated using the spreadsheet application and can then be uploaded back to the LPCT page, based on the user’s security setup. If the user can add records to the reference table online, then they are able to upload records to the table. If additional security is desired the System Maintenance Utility job that is triggered by the Upload action can be configured with Job Security to restrict the upload action.
Note: If you plan to use the Export or Export All actions, data in the fields on this page should not contain any special characters, including return characters. When opening the downloaded file, if special characters are present in the reference page record, that particular record might be, for example, split into two records in the downloaded file, and the extra records would have to be manually deleted/modified.
Note: Refer to the “Export Grid Results to CSV” topic in the CGI Advantage Page/Table User Guide for detailed instructions on how to export the results to a CSV file and how to use an import wizard to open the file in Microsoft Excel.
