Salary Adjustment Setup

The Salary Adjustment Setup (SLAS) page allows authorized users to define the percentage-based qualifying criteria to be used in the Process Salary Adjustments batch job for Merit Salary Adjustment (MSA) and Special In-Grade Salary Adjustment (SISA). This page is referenced during execution of the Process Salary Adjustments batch job when an employee has a class change prior to salary adjustment processing. Based on the configured percentage range, the system determines the required Qualifying Pay Periods. For SISA, it also defines the Additional Qualifying Pay Periods to be applied for the subsequent MSA cycle.

Field Name

Field Description

From

The date this information becomes effective. This field should be entered in mm/dd/yyyy format.

To

The last date for which this information is effective. The default value for the operating system is 12/31/9999, which indicates the latest available date.

Home Department

The identification code associated with the operating entity for which the employee works.

Home Unit

The identification code associated with the management unit to which the employee reports.

Union Local

The identification code associated with the union local.

Salary Adjustment Type

Identifies whether the setup applies to Merit Salary Adjustment (MSA) or Special In-Grade Salary Adjustment (SISA).

Minimum Percentage

Indicates the lower limit of percentage increase between the previous and new salary ranges used to determine applicable Qualifying Pay Periods.

Maximum Percentage

Indicates the upper limit of percentage increase between the previous and new salary ranges used to determine applicable Qualifying Pay Periods.

Qualifying Pay Periods

Indicates the number of qualifying pay periods required based on the defined percentage range. This value is used during salary adjustment eligibility validation.

Additional Qualifying Pay Periods

This field is applicable only when Salary Adjustment Type is Special In-Grade Salary Adjustment (SISA). Indicates the number of qualifying pay periods to be applied for the subsequent Salary Adjustment cycle after Special In-Grade Salary Adjustment (SISA) processing when a class change has occurred.
