Step Placement and Progression Rule

The Step Placement and Progression Rule (SPPRL) page is used to define how an employee's Pay, Grade and Step progresses. This page has the following two tabs:

Step Placement and Progression RuleStep Placement and Progression Rule

This tab allows you to enter General information and Step details. The Step Placement and Progression Rule stores the number of months an employee needs to stay in a particular Grade and Step before they can become eligible for promotion to the next Step within the same Grade. The Maximum Service Hours field defines the number of Active Service Hours a recurrent employee should work for this Step. The maximum number of hours that can be defined is 999999. If an employee exceeds the Maximum Service Hours for Evaluation defined then the service hours are carried over to the next step where the employee gets placed.

This page allows you to specify how Step placement and progression occurs for a specific Pay Policy and Grade. The Step Placement and Progression Rules are measured in the number of months an employee has worked.
