Employee Job Inquiry (QJIN)

The Employee Job Inquiry (QJIN) Inquiry page is used to search and access job history information for employees. This inquiry page has limited employee information that is necessary for assisting with transfers, re-hiring and other decision making. QJIN is a concise view of Employee Profile Management (EPM) with limited fields and is driven based on Job Appointment Date instead of Employee Status Maintenance (ESMT) From and To dates. EPM captures every time slice on employee assignment and has every field related to employee available, however there can be few key events within employee’s job history that can drive decision making, for this purpose QJIN can be used. It works on Job Appointment Date and can be used to inquiry on key events for the employee within the organization.
Job Appointment Date need to be driven by Configurable Formulas based on site needs. For example, Sites can configure to update Job Appointment Date with ESMT FROM Date, whenever there is a Title, Sub- Title, Position Number, Department, Unit change. Sites can also capture Job Appointment Date based on Personnel Action (PACT) codes like termination. Job Appointment Date can also be configured in a way to override the inferred date if required in case of multiple corrections made to employee assignment. Once Job Appointment Date is linked to a Configurable Formula, the QJIN page can be used to view employee job history within the organization.

On this page, users can search based on the Employee ID, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Home Department, Appointment ID, Title, Sub-Title, Employment Status and Job Appointment Date. This page contains the following employee job information: Employee ID, Appointment ID, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Home Department, Title, Sub-Title, Employment Status, Job Appointment Date and To Date. The default display of the results displays the current timeline.  A selection to view the complete timeline can be used to view the history of the employees queried.

The QJIN page needs to be made searchable via APGS and Job Appointment Date on Employee Status Maintenance (ESMT) is set to be tertiary by default and need to be enabled via Configure Page (DESIGNER).

There is a capability to mask information on the QJIN inquiry via the Mask on Job Inquiry flag configuration on the Extended Department (DEPTX) reference page.

The Mask on Job Inquiry flag allows you to mask the details of employees on Employee Job Inquiry (QJIN) based on the department and unit combination specified on the DEPTX page. Therefore, instead of showing the details of employee, on Employee Job Inquiry the information displays  as asterisks(****).

If we have wildcard entry on unit for a certain department and the Mask on Job Inquiry flag is set to true, then the details of employees who belong to the respective department for all units will get masked.

On the if Mask On Job Inquiry flag is selected, the job inquiry details is masked for all the employees who belongs to the defined department and unit combination of all the active assignments in the current timeline. If the flag is not selected then the employees who belongs to non-masked department and unit combination, their job inquiry details will not be masked. The job inquiry details of inactive or ex-employee is always  available irrespective of the flag value on the DEPTX.

When the logged in user belongs to a masked department and unit then, they can view other employees information within their own unit, however they cannot view information for any other masked units.
