Establishing Regular Review Cycles and Generating Miscellaneous Evaluations
Establishing a Regular Evaluation Cycle
Evaluation cycles for groups of employees are associated with the title of the employees belonging to each group. An evaluation cycle, defined by type and length, is based upon the employee’s Title as it is entered on the Employment Status Maintenance (ESMT) page.
Notes:
The employee’s title defines many employee attributes, not just the employee’s evaluation cycle. Changing the employee’s title will change all these attributes. Therefore, an employee’s title should not be changed just to satisfy an evaluation cycle. If the employee’s cycle is not satisfied by title, the evaluation cycle can be assigned by a personnel action, or a unique evaluation cycle can be established.
Every employee with the same title is evaluated in the same cycle unless this evaluation cycle is overridden on the Employee Performance Evaluation (EPEV) page.
Generating Miscellaneous Evaluations
Miscellaneous reviews are reviews that might occur for employees at irregular intervals. The evaluations for these reviews can be generated online by assigning a Personnel Action code that defines an evaluation event.
Notes:
Any evaluation cycle information on an employee’s personnel action will override the evaluation information associated with the title. However, a personnel action defines many employee attributes, not just the employee’s evaluation. Changing the personnel action will change all these attributes. Therefore, an employee’s Personnel Action code should not be changed just to satisfy an evaluation.
If the employee’s evaluation is not satisfied by a personnel action, the evaluation can be decided by title or a unique evaluation can be manually entered.
