Creating a Position Distribution Profile

Before an employee can be assigned to multiple positions, the employee's assignment (defined within an Employee Status Maintenance transaction) must have the Split Position check box selected to indicate that the employee's position is split.

To access the Position Distribution Profile Maintenance (PDPR) transaction and enter position distribution data from the Payroll Management (PAYM) activity folder, perform these steps:

  1. Select the appropriate employee from the Payroll Management activity folder search results and select View from the row-level menu.

  2. Navigate to the Position Distribution Profile Maintenance tab.

  3. Select the Create Position Distribution Profile Maintenance row-level action for the desired record in the search results. Result: The Position Distribution Profile Maintenance transaction is created and displayed.

  4. Navigate to the Position Distribution Profile Maintenance Detail tab, insert a new record, and complete required information.

  5. To add position distribution lines, repeat step 4. Note: The sum of the Percent Full-time for all positions must be equal to the Percent Full-time defined on the employee's assignment record.

  6. Select Validate to make certain that your entries are correct.

  7. Select Submit to save your entries.

  8. Select Close to exit the Position Distribution Profile Maintenance transaction and return to the Payroll Management activity folder.
