Filling a Future Position

Advantage HRM allows you to fill a position in the future, also known as future triggering. In order to future trigger a position, you fill the position using the Employee Status Maintenance (ESMT) transaction with a From date that is greater than the current system date. When the transaction is in Final phase, the position is future dated, and the future incumbent and future FTE counts for that position are updated instead of the filled counts. When a position’s From date is equal to the current system date, the Position Control Trigger Processor (HKB2000) adjusts the incumbent and FTE counts accordingly on the position authorization record.
