Alternate Leave Policy Rate (ALPRT)
The Alternate Leave Policy Rate (ALPRT) page allows you to define accrual rates used in the Alternate Accrual Method calculation logic. The accrual amount applies when the minimum hours amount is met/exceeded, up until the minimum hours from the next record for the leave policy and type is met. Accrual amounts are not prorated. The accrual amount is expressed in the basis for the leave type and the minimum hours are always expressed in hours/minutes.
The accrual amount is accrued for an employee based on the minimum hours even if the Standard Accrual check box is checked or unchecked.
The Alternate Leave Policy Rate reference page allows leave rates to be defined at different organizational levels including Home Department, Home Unit and Union Local.

Accrual Amount |
The automated accrual amount to be generated if the hours being evaluated falls between the Minimum Hours on this record and the next available ‘Minimum Hours’ value on the table (when sorted numerically). |
Accrual Basis |
Designate as Pay Period for accruals to be calculated based on hours reported in the current pay period. Designate as Month for accruals to be calculated based on hours reported in the full month (current and prior pay periods for semi-monthly employees. |
Calculation Type |
Designate as Work Hours for leave types where the accrual and any proration (due to LWOP, etc.) is calculated based on work/scheduled hours. Designate as Pay Class Hours for leave types where the accrual and any proration is calculated based on pay class pay period hours. |
Leave Type |
Enter the leave event code for the automated accrual. |
Minimum Hours |
The minimum hours worked/scheduled (HH:MM) needed to receive the amount in the corresponding Accrual Amount field. |
Payment Frequency |
Enter the payment frequency. This must be set to Semi-monthly if the Accrual Basis is set to Month. |
Standard Accrual |
Select on the record for a given Leave Policy and Type (with other key unique identifiers such as Department) that represents the ‘full’ accrual an employee should receive for the evaluation period if no leave without pay hours are entered. |
