Create a Single Budget Line

The following depicts the online creation of just a single budget line.  If the budget structure where a line is being created has multiple budget levels and a user needs to create or update lines at all levels, please refer to the "Create Multiple Budget Lines" task instead.

For screen shots and field information for the budget documents, refer to the "Budget Document" section.

To create a single budget line, perform these steps:

  1. Create the desired budget document code.  Refer to the "Delivered Budget Structures" section for information matching a Document Code to a particular budget structure.

  2. Complete the Header section.  Enter any document-wide information on the Header section you would like to default to all budget lines.

  3. Complete the appropriate budget level section.  

  4. Click the Validate button to validate for errors.

  5. If errors exist, fix the errors and repeat Step 4.  If no errors exist, then continue with Step 6.

  6. Click the Submit button to submit the document.
