Fixed Asset Correction (FACR)

Purpose

The Fixed Asset (FA) Document Type updates the FA Registry tables, Accounting Journal, FA Component Journal, FA Accounting Journal, Accounting Control tables and Budget tables when documents go to Final. There can be business situations where the accounting information posted to the Journals needs to be corrected.  This could be due to incorrect or no updates made by the documents to the Journals and Accounting Control tables.

The Fixed Asset Correction (FACR) document is used for data correction. The FACR document cannot be created online by a user. The FACR document can be created/loaded/submitted via an XML file containing the necessary information. FACR documents are delivered as part of data fixes for software defects that cause data corruption.

The FACR document has its own Event Category called FA Correction (FACR) and all of the Event types that are used on the FACR document must belong to this Event Category. Event Types are delivered for all of the common correction scenarios.  Refer to the "Fixed Assets Accounting Model" section in the CGI Advantage Financial - General Accounting User Guide, for details on each of the Event Types.

Posting lines on the FACR use the Responsibility Center Logic available in the FA Sub System.  Each posting line contains the COA elements from the asset’s Accounting Line or the Responsibility Center COA elements based on the Responsibility Center flag.  For additional details on Responsibility Center logic please refer the "Responsibility Center Accounting" section in this user guide.

The FACR document updates the journals and balance tables based on the settings on the Posting Code and does not perform any document specific updates including the updates to the FAR tables.

Structure

The Fixed Asset Correction (FACR) document has four sections (Header, Component, Accounting, and Posting).  Each section is broken down into various tabs that contain groups of related fields.  Details on the individual fields can be found in the individual field help files for each field.  None of the fields are editable on this document since this document cannot be created online by a user.
