Fixed Asset Revaluation

This Fixed Asset Revaluation table is used to change estimated replacement costs. Entries on the Fixed Asset Revaluation (FAVAL) table assign parameters used by the Fixed Asset Mass Revaluation (FAMR) process to calculate "valuation", an estimate of insurance or replacement cost.   (Valuation = amount independent of acquisition cost + net book value.)

Fixed Asset Type

Key field.  Standard asset types include Land (L), Buildings (B), Equipment and Furniture (E), Vehicles (V), Construction-in-Progress (C), Infrastructure (I), and Antiques and Artifacts (A).  The system also supports additional, user-defined asset types.

Must be unique.  Assets will be further defined with the Group field on the Fixed Asset Group (FGRP) Table

Fixed Asset Group

Enter Fixed Asset Group to further classify a Fixed Asset. Fixed Asset Group is keyed by Fixed Asset Type.  The Fixed Asset Group is used as one of the selection criteria in the FAMR process.

Fixed Asset Group Category

The Fixed Asset Group Category is set up on the Fixed Asset Group Category (FGCT) table.  Group categories are collections of related group classes.  Group Category is part of the Fixed Asset Reporting Hierarchy, which provides a more detailed break-out of asset classifications.  Each Group Category must belong to a valid Fixed Asset Type.  The Fixed Asset Group Category is used as one of the selection criteria in the FAMR process.

Fixed Asset Group Class

The Fixed Asset Group Class is set up on the Fixed Asset Group Class (FGCS) table.  Group classes are collections of related Fixed Asset Groups.  Group Class is part of the Fixed Asset Reporting Hierarchy, which provides a more detailed break-out of asset classifications.  Each Group Class must belong to a valid Fixed Asset Type.  The Fixed Asset Group Class is used as one of the selection criteria in the FAMR process.

Commodity

The identification code assigned to the Commodity.

Composite Asset

The Fixed Asset Mass Revaluation process needs to select Composite and Non-Composite assets separately.  Identify whether this Fixed Asset Revaluation Parameter table record should be used to select composite assets.  If selected, only Composite assets will be selected.  You may not select assets by Commodity Code if the Composite Indicator is selected.

Process Sequence Number

Required.  Records on the FA Reval Parameter (FAVAL) table must be numbered to identify the order in which the system should process records.  Enter the Process Sequence Number as whole, positive integers.

Years Since Last Valuation

Years Since Last Valuation provides selection criteria for the Mass Revaluation (FAMR) batch process.  Years Since Last Valuation defines an upper and lower limit date range.  If an asset is to be selected, the Last Valuation Date must fall in this date range.  For example, if the Revaluation Date established as an FAMR batch process parameter is 1/1/2001, and Years Since Last Valuation is set to 1, then assets will be selected where the Last Valuation Date is between 1/1/2000 and 1/1/1999.
