Current, detailed status of an asset

Fixed Asset Registry (FAR)

The Fixed Asset Registry stores the current status of an asset, the commodity-based component line(s) that comprise the asset, and the individual accounting lines funding the asset purchase.  The registry consists of three tables, the Fixed Asset Registry to store all asset details and two child tables, the Fixed Asset Component Registry (FAC) and the Fixed Asset Line Registry (FAL).  The Accounting Line values are displayed in a summary form and the values are summarized based on the fields selected on the FA SOPT table.

Summary status of improved and bettered assets

The Fixed Asset Registry (FAR) header also provides a summarized view of asset amounts to include any improvements.  The inquiry provides the following summary information:

  • Asset Cost / Value

  • Accumulated Depreciation

  • Salvage Value

  • Valuation Amount

  • Net Book Value

History of updates to an asset

Fixed Asset History (FAHIST)

Advantage includes two Fixed Asset Journals to maintain information associated with each asset.  These are the Fixed Asset Component Journal (JFACJ) and the Fixed Asset Accounting Journal (JFAAJ).

The Fixed Asset History (FAHIST) Inquiry provides views to both journals using a single selection query.

Fixed Asset Payment Request (FAPR) Inquiry

Tracks the status of commodity lines on Payment Requests flagged as fixed assets.
