The first of two multi-section tables used in BFY Stage definition is this BFY Staging Profile table. The first three are used to define new and navigate existing stages, profiles, and document code/event type combinations. The remaining four sections are informational views of data that is setup in the second multi-section table in BFY Staging.
Behavior on this multi-section table is the same as others where selection of a record on a high-level section provides filtering of records on lower-level sections when selected. If a section is skipped, the application automatically selects the first row on the section bypassed. The last four sections do not use the filtering behavior.
There are the same four transitions available at the bottom of each section in the BFY Staging Profile table. Those are only discussed here one time.
Spending BFY Stage Definitions A transition to the second of two multi-section tables available in BFY Staging. On this table, spending profile assignments are made and dates defined to start and end each stage. More on these tables can be found later when each is discussed along with field definitions.
Revenue BFY Stage Definitions A transition to the second of two multi-section tables available in BFY Staging. On this table, revenue profile assignments are made and dates defined to start and end each stage. More on these tables can be found later when each is discussed along with field definitions.
Balance Sheet Account BFY Stage Definitions A transition to the second of two multi-section tables available in BFY Staging. On this table, balance sheet account profile assignments are made and dates defined to start and end each stage. More on these tables can be found later when each is discussed along with field definitions.
Non Accounting BFY Stage Definitions A transition to the second of two multi-section tables available in BFY Staging. On this table non-accounting profile assignments are made and dates defined to start and end each stage. More on these tables can be found later when each is discussed along with field definitions.
The BFY Staging Profile section contains the following sections:
Either action on the BFY Stage Profile Select page brings the user to the Staging Profile Summary page. If selecting an existing profile, the Stage Profile and Staging Profile Name fields will be completed with the values of the highlighted record. If adding a new stage, the fields will be blank and ready for completion.
This page is the first of seven sections available in the Secondary Navigation Panel. On this section, stages are defined or navigated.
Fields on the Staging Profile Summary page:

Field Description |
Stage Profile |
A required unique identifier assigned to a profile. |
Stage Profile Name |

The Select Another BFY Stage Profile link transitions you to the Budget Fiscal Year Stage Profile Select page so another profile can be selected. An alternative would be to use the four navigation actions on the Staging Profile Summary section to navigate between existing stages.
This page is the second of the seven sections. On this page, stages are defined at a high level (no dates yet) with a system-generated Stage number and manually entered Description.

AFY versus BFY |
One of four values selected that will define the relationship of Accounting Fiscal Year and Budget Fiscal Year that will be allowed with the Document Code and Event Type combination. Valid values are: Posting FY must be BFY, Posting FY must be greater than BFY, Posting FY must be less than BFY, and Unrestricted. Each provides the restriction mentioned in the value with the Unrestricted choice meaning that the FY and BFY will not be evaluated for the BFY Staging rule. The default value is Posting FY must be BFY and a blank value will not save. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Referencing |
One of three values selected that will define the referencing requirements of a Document Code and Event Type combination. Valid values are: Required, Not Allowed, and Unrestricted. When set to Required, a reference must be made with the Document Code and Event Type combination that has a Reference Type of Partial, Final, or Inverse. A Memo reference will not satisfy the rule. When set to Not Allowed, a reference of those three types will not be allowed and only the Memo reference or no reference at all will be allowed. When set to Unrestricted, the application will not evaluate reference information for the BFY Staging rule. The default value is Unrestricted and a blank value will not save. A posting line that has a Line Function of Liquidation will not be evaluated against this rule for the Event Type and Document Code being liquidated. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Line Action |
One of three values selected that will define the referencing requirements of a Document Code and Event Type combination. Valid values are: Increases Only, Decreases Only, and Unrestricted. The default value is Unrestricted and a blank value will not save. Evaluation of this value uses the Account Type and Code Type fields mentioned in the Posting Code table section of this user's guide. The following table should be used to evaluate if a posting line is being considered an increase or decrease for BFY Staging. As budget documents do not have posting lines but have an Increase/Decrease field, determination on those documents is straight forward.
When set to Unrestricted, the application will not evaluate the line action information for the BFY Staging rule. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Liquidation Lines |
If checked, it indicates the staging rule will only apply to a liquidation posting line. Use of this flag is made when a staging rule should only apply to liquidation posting lines and not to non-liquidation lines. For example, if the liquidation of a PRC with AP01 event type should be allowed but new credit memo lines should not be allowed, checking this flag would allow the former and not the latter.. |
