Pick and Issue (PI) Document

Purpose

The Pick and Issue (PI) document prints pick tickets based on Stock Requisition (SR) documents and generates associated Stock Issue Confirmation (CI) documents.  It has no accounting effects.

The Pick and Issue (PI) document cannot be modified or cancelled.  

The Pick and Issue document has a Header section and does not have any detail sections.  The (PI) document performs a variety of functions, which are outlined below:  

• Print New Pick Tickets

  When the PI document is created with a function of Print New Pick Tickets, the document submits the offline program Inventory Pick and Issue Order that prints pick tickets for selected Stock Requisitions (SRQ) for the specified warehouse.   In addition, an Issue Confirmation (CI) document is generated for each pick ticket printed with the scheduling status of the CI set to Held.  Finally, the Reserved Quantities and Released Quantities on the Stock Requisition and Inventory table are updated.  An error will occur upon Submit if any of the adjustments to the quantities creates a negative amount in the Inventory Inquiry (INVNQ) table. The Print New Pick Ticket function can be executed with the following Selection Options: Specific Stock Requisition – to release the reserved stock items on a specific SRQ document for a specific warehouse. Specific Delivery Date – to release the reserved stock items for a specific delivery date for a specific warehouse. All Stock Requisitions – to release the reserved stock items for all Stock Requisitions with a reserved quantity greater than zero, for a specified warehouse.

   

• Print New Pick Tickets and Schedule Issue Confirmation Documents

  This option performs the same functions as the option explained above except the scheduling status of the CI is set to Ready.   The Print New Pick Ticket and Schedule Issue Confirmation Documents function can be executed with the following Selection Options: Specific Stock Requisition – to release the reserved stock items on a specific SRQ document for a specific warehouse. Specific Delivery Date – to release the reserved stock items for a specific delivery date for a specific warehouse. All Stock Requisitions – to release the reserved stock items for all Stock Requisitions with a reserved quantity greater than zero, for a specified warehouse.

   

• Reprint Pick Tickets

  This option reprints confirmed picks only.  Issue Confirmations (CI) and open stock requisition items issues lines are not created or updated.  Likewise, the scheduling status of the CIs will not change.   The Reprint Pick Ticket function can be executed with the following Selection Options: Specific Stock Requisition – to reprint the Pick Ticket for a specific SRQ document for a specific warehouse. Specific Delivery Date – to reprint the Pick Tickets for a specific delivery date for a specific warehouse. All Stock Requisitions – to reprint the Pick Tickets for all Stock Requisitions for a specified warehouse.

   

• Schedule Issue Confirmation Documents

  All Issue Confirmation (CI) documents that were picked on a specified date are processed.  If By Delivery Date is selected, all CI transactions with a Delivery Date equal to the Pick and Issue (PI) transactions Pick Date are scheduled for processing.  Otherwise, Issue Confirmation documents are scheduled by Pick Date.

   

Note:  

For Stock Requisitions that reference an external customer, the Issue Confirmation document is created using the document code indicated in the External Confirmation Document Code field on the Warehouse table; otherwise, the document code indicated in the Confirmation Document Code field on the Warehouse table is used.)
