Pension Profile (PENS)
The Pension Profile (PENS) transaction allows you to record and view information pertaining to an employee's pension plan and pension deductions. Although pension profiles can be established at the appointment level, retirement processing requires that the Pension Profile be entered at the employee level. All employees who use retirement processing should have the Appointment ID set to ‘*’. If no Pension System and Pension Tier is established for the employee on PENS, retirement processing uses the Pension System and Pension Tier from the Sub-Title (STTL) entry associated with the employee’s primary (blank) appointment.
When the Retroactive Deduction Feature ID is active on the Offline Process Configuration (OPROC) reference page, the system evaluates the Deduction Parameter Change field on the Deduction Type (DEDT, BENT, EFBT) table and the employee’s last paid date. If the deduction has the Deduction Parameter Change field selected and the deduction effective date is before or equal to the last paid date, a Deduction - Ded Change trigger will be created. The retro trigger start date is equal to the transaction From date and the retro trigger end date will be equal to the last paid date. When the trigger is created, Configuration Date 1 field on OPROC will be considered. If the retro trigger start date is before this date, the start date will be changed to the value of the date.
