Creating a New Position
To access the Position Maintenance (PSMT) transaction and create a completely new position from the Position Management (POSM) activity folder, perform these steps:
Access the Position Management activity folder.
Click the Create Position Status Maintenance page-level action. Result: The Position Maintenance transaction is created and opened.
Complete the required fields.
Click Validate to make certain that your entries are correct.
Click Submit to record the new position in the system.
Click Close to exit the Position Maintenance transaction and return to the main page of the Position Management activity folder.
Note: Once the new position has been entered into the system, it must be authorized. Refer to the "Authorizing a New Position" topic for more information.
