Retroactive Trigger (RTRG)

The Retroactive Trigger (RTRG) transaction allows you to view and modify automatically generated retroactive pay and leave triggers, and enter manual triggers for situations where automatic triggers do not occur, such as when a change to a table-driven pay or leave rate occurs. After entering retroactive triggers for all affected employees, you can then initiate the offline retroactive processing. When it is processed, a trigger record is added to the database and preparation for retroactive pay processing begins. Manual triggers can also be generated using the Mass Change Requests for One-Time Transactions (MAS3) page if many employees are affected by the change.

Any triggers that have been generated through automated or manual processes can be manually deleted from the system using the Retroactive Trigger (RTRG) transaction accessible through the Trigger Management Activity Folder (TRGM) prior to the running the Retro Leave Accrual Process.

The Process Trigger for Previously Unpaid Employee check box allows users to create Retro Triggers for employees who have never been paid. It can only be used if the Type ID is Pay Cycle, Pending Pay, or FLSA Work Cycle. If a user tries to submit an RTRG for an unpaid employee using Type ID Pay Cycle without checking this box, an error will be issued.

The Retroactive Trigger transaction can be created in the following way:

  • Select the Create action on the Transaction Catalog.

  • Select the Retroactive Trigger row-level action on the Retroactive Trigger tab of the Trigger Management (TRGM) activity folder.

  • Select the Modify Retroactive Trigger row-level action on the Retroactive Trigger tab Trigger Management (TRGM) activity folder.
