Resource Groups

The Resource Groups (SCRGRP) page is where system resources define resource groups for later association to security roles to which groups of user's are defined. A resource group is a logical grouping of similar application resources. A resource can be defined to only one resource group. There is no limit to the number of resource groups.

There is nothing that prevents the administrator from combining existing transaction and page resources into fewer resource groups. A sample resource group might be budget inquiry page (e.g. BQ31LV1), which contains all of the budget inquiry table resources. It is recommended to avoid assigning application resources of different types to the same resource group. The reason is that the Access Control page is more complex to configure when the administrator has to account for settings related to multiple resource types on the same record.
