COBRA Status Maintenance (CSMT)

The COBRA Status Maintenance (CSMT) transaction allows you to view and record information the COBRA status of a qualified beneficiary or other covered individual. If a COBRA recipient is being covered by another person, the information is recorded on this page. COBRA Status Maintenance also records the health coverage provider, coverage cost, and administrative fee information.

Note: A COBRA Status Maintenance transaction is automatically created when a COBRA Attribute Maintenance (CAMT) transaction is entered. You cannot enter the Employee ID, Qualified Beneficiary ID, or Covered Individual ID on the COBRA Status Maintenance transaction unless this record is already set up by the COBRA Attribute Maintenance transaction.

Captures the Employee ID for the COBRA Status Maintenance transaction.

The COBRA Status Maintenance Details tab captures the following information:

  • Record Recipient information for qualified COBRA beneficiary.

  • Record the Recipient Status for the COBRA qualified beneficiary.

  • Record comments for the COBRA status maintenance.

  • Record coverage information for the COBRA Finance Management Details. You can enter the Deduction Type, Deduction Plan and cost of the deduction, for up to eight deductions.

  • Record Affordable Care Act (ACA) Information for the COBRA Status Maintenance.

The COBRA Status Maintenance transaction can be created in the following way:

  • Select the Create action on the Transaction Catalog.

  • Select the Create COBRA Status Maintenance row-level action on the COBRA Status Maintenance tab of the COBRA Activity Folder (COBRA) activity folder.
