Employee Tax Parameter (TAX)
Employee’s income tax deductions are deductions required by law. Employees complete a W-4 form to indicate federal, state, and local income taxes to be withheld from their paychecks. The system allows you to set up and change income tax deductions as reported on the W-4 form. Information from the W-4 forms, such as tax marital status, number of allowances, and exemptions (for pre-Jan 1 2020 W-4 forms), Multiple Jobs, Dependent Credit, Other Income and Deductions (for post Jan 1 2020 W-4 forms) is used by the system to calculate the income tax withholding deductions. W-4P and Multiple Annuity/Pension (for post Jan 1 2022 W-4P forms) will be used by the system to calculate the income tax withholding deductions.

Notes:
The Auto Expire Tax Parameters batch job can be used to expire tax parameters based on Tax Year and Tax Class. This batch process selects records with Tax Year and Tax Class that match the values in the parameters Selection Tax Year and Selection Tax Class, AND with an Expiration Date of 12/31/9999. The batch job then creates a TAX transaction for every record selected, which are submitted by the System Maintenance Utility (SMU) process. When the TAX transactions are processed and finalized, they automatically expire the previous tax parameter records with the new timeslices that were created by the new TAX transactions. Refer the CGI Advantage HRM Run Sheet Guides for more information on this process.
