Help Overview

This online help system offers the following types of information:

• General information about the system

• Specific information about individual business areas in CGI Advantage Financial (for example, Accounts Receivable)

• Descriptions of individual pages and fields

• Step-by-step instructions for the most commonly used tasks (for example, searching for a reference table and creating a new transaction)

• A glossary of terms used in the online help

The information contained in this online help system is geared at sites that have installed CGI Advantage Financial.  For sites which have installed CGI Advantage Procurement only, the information not related to procurement will not be relevant.

Description of the Help Window

The online help window includes the following features:

• The top panel allows you to search the currently online help system by selecting the magnifying glass icon. Refer to the "Searching the Help System" topic for more information.

• The left-side panel includes a Table of Contents that allows you to navigate the online help application. You can expand and collapse sections in the Contents tab.

• You can hide/show the left panel by selecting the Hide/Show Left Panel icon.  

• The middle panel displays help topic information or displays a graphic or links with which you can navigate to other sections of the online help. 

• The header of the help file includes links to online help for other Advantage applications. Note: Based on your implementation of Advantage, the other online help applications may not be applicable. Refer to the "Navigating the Help System" topic for additional information. 

• The Footer area allows you to navigate directly to the Site Map or User Guide Downloads (view PDF files of user guides) topic files for the application's online help that is currently being viewed. For example, if you are viewing online help for Advantage Financial, then you are taken to the Site Map for Advantage Financial Online Help when you click the Site Map link in the footer of the help file.  

• The right-side panel allows you to:

• Expand All or Collapse All links in topic files.

• Save a topic file as a favorite, edit favorites, and delete favorites. Refer to the "Online Help Favorites" topic for more information on this feature.

• Remove highlights from searched word(s). Refer to the "Searching the Help System" topic for more information.

• Navigate to section headings within the topic file (if applicable). Refer to the "Navigating the Help System" topic for additional information. 

• Go to Top icon - navigate to the top of the topic file page.

• Full Screen icon - expands the topic window and hides the left and right-side panels.  Select the icon again to return to the regular view.
